Mac OS X Network Admin and Consultant - Full Time

Most Training & Consulting is a Chicago-based consulting and development business focused on serving small to mid-sized organizations and institutions, as well as software development of tools for system administrators such as our Mac HelpMate, Win HelpMate and Auto HelpMate remote administration software. Known for our Macintosh technical training, and professional multi-platform consulting, we're currently recruiting a Mac OS X Systems Engineer with network engineering skills to join our team. This is a special opportunity for the right candidate with no shortage of interesting projects. Such projects often consist of a unique blend of technologies. Primary Job Responsibilities:

Network equipment (switch, router)
Server installation and maintenance
Client to server integration
Network design and architecture
Management of deployment projects imaging and software distribution
Telephone and remote support and remote system administration
Technical presentations and technical training
Email and web server installation and maintenance
Proposals and project documentation
Software development and testing

Requirements:

Proven Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server expertise
Windows Client and Server understanding
Mastery of Ethernet and wireless networks
Responsive and detail-oriented
Desire to work within a team, and the ability to work independently
Previous experience in the field
Excellent technology problem solving skills and a "can-do" attitude
Already certified or desire to become certified in Mac OS X and/or Windows quickly
Must have their own transportation and be willing to work irregular hours including nights and weekends
Occasional travel
Must be able to self-manage projects with minimal supervision

Highly Desirable:

Open-Source affinity
Familiarity with one or more mainstream scripting languages such as shell script, perl, Ruby, Python, AppleScript, JavasScript, PHP/MySql, Xcode and Apple Developer Tools
C++ programming experience
Objective C / Cocoa programming experience
AppleScript / shell script interaction and TCL
Knowledge of graphic arts and multimedia
Knowledge of backup devices and storage solutions
Knowledge of routing, VPN, and firewalls
Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server and Exchange experience
Knowledge of Apple Classic/Mac OS 9
